CFTC Staff Study Finds No Evidence Of Market Manipulation in Silver Futures

Despite renewed allegations of misconduct in the silver futures markets, there is no evidence of manipulation in recent trading, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Division of Market Oversight said in a May 14 report. Publication date May 19, 2008

If DOJ Fails to Revise Privilege Waiver, Judiciary Panel Will Move Bill, Leahy Says

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told BNA May 13 that unless the Justice Department acts soon to revise its policy on attorney-client privilege waivers, he will move a bill to prohibit the department from pressuring corporations to waive the privilege in return for more lenient treatment by government prosecutors in criminal cases.
